Customer background

A coordinated private-label range for Nordic studios and workplace gyms

The customer is a fitness brand serving training studios, workplace gyms and regional e-commerce in Sweden. Its 2025 project developed a coordinated rack, bench, free-weight and accessory range for Nordic commercial use.

The brand wanted a calm product identity and simpler packaging, but understood that removing plastic without testing replacement materials could expose painted frames and upholstery to abrasion or moisture during sea freight, warehouse handling and final studio delivery.

Product and packaging decisions therefore had to be developed together. The range needed a repeatable visual and service platform, while each product group required protection appropriate to its weight, contact points and handling route.

Supplier selection

Why PowerBaseFit matched the purchasing requirement

  • Equipment finishes, markings, manuals and packaging could be managed within one OEM development process.
  • Packing methods could be trialed by product group instead of applying one untested material rule across the order.
  • The coordinated range could use one fog-gray and muted-blue Nordic design language.
  • Packaging material information could be documented for the brand's internal supplier review.
  • Future accessories could extend the same product, packaging and identification system.
OEM / private label scope

How the product family was controlled

  • Fog-gray equipment frames with muted-blue details
  • Small private-label logo plates and clean free-weight markings
  • Swedish-English manuals across the agreed product range
  • Paper honeycomb and edge protection where trials confirmed adequate performance
  • Moisture- and abrasion-resistant barriers retained at higher-risk contact points
  • Clear recycling marks applied to the approved packaging components
Project challenge

Reduce single-use packaging material while maintaining protection through sea freight, warehouse handling and final studio delivery.

PowerBaseFit solution

PowerBaseFit trial-packed a half rack, commercial bench, dumbbell pallet and accessory group. Contact points, painted edges, pad surfaces and moisture-sensitive areas were reviewed after handling. Paper-based materials replaced lower-risk protection, while established barrier materials remained at higher-risk positions. When a paper corner protector softened during a humidity trial and stopped holding its shape against a painted rack member, a narrow moisture-resistant sleeve was retained at that point and the paper solution remained elsewhere.

Production, QC and packing

Finish, contact-point, moisture and recycling-mark checks

The case combines product-family consistency with practical receiving and after-sales identification.

01

Matte fog-gray and muted-blue finishes checked for color and texture before packing

02

Half racks and commercial benches checked for stability and adjustment

03

Functional trainers checked for movement, adjustment and completeness

04

Dumbbells and weight plates checked for clear and accurate markings

05

Edge protection and separation between metal parts verified by packaging inspectors

06

Moisture barriers, recycling marks and product-group packing records checked before shipment

Delivered project outcome

Simpler packaging with controlled protection through the delivery route

The brand launched its Nordic range with a simpler packaging system and controlled transit protection. Damage levels remained manageable, and the packaging-material summary supported the buyer's supplier review.

The next order extended the same approach to additional accessories, giving the brand a practical reference for later models, packaging decisions and range expansion.
